Strategies to get the very best vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated-Amazing 360 views of the Atlantic Ocean and Sound -with Pool. has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
