How to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Emerald Isle & When to book:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • To book the largest rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the Havelock area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Amazing Sound Front Cottage with Private Pier and In-Ground Pool!!! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's an individual Havelock beach you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
