Tips to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your Havelock rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick the rightrental home:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. PET FRIENDLY OCEANFRONT COTTAGE WITH EASY ACCESS has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
