Tips to get the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
When to book a Havelock rental & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Havelock area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing a perfect Havelock rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beach Villa with Tropical Pool has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
