Our top Rental home booking tips:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Book your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the right Havelock rental:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Soundfront Complex, pool, steps from beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you love, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Tips for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
