Tips to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. “A Swell Life” 3 Bed\/3 Bath, Oceanfront Condo, Unit 1105 Queens Court has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Havelock beach you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
