Getting the best Havelock rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Carolina House - Steps to Beach, Fantastic Location! Walk to All Attractions has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
