Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book the rightrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Cents and Cents-Ability -- Cozy Beach Getaway! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Havelock attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
