When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:

• Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking your vacation home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
• Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
• Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
• Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.

• Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
• Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
• Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
