Booking the best Havelock vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Book your Havelock rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the best rental home in Beaufort:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Coastal Retreat w\/ Boat Parking and Large Private Backyard has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
