Finding the best Pine Knoll Shores rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Coral Shores #11, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Havelock beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
