Pine Knoll Shores vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Pine Knoll Shores. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Coral Shores #11, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
