Tips and Tricks to get the very best Havelock rental home experience:

When to book a Havelock rental home & When to go:

  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.

Finding the best rental home in the Havelock area:

  • Start by having your group select dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. NEW Updates for 2024! Beautiful sunsets on private balcony! Beach\/pool access. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
