Vacation rental tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefectrental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Family affordable & close enough to all the fun stuff! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
