Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Glori East/Oceanfront
Ocean views from every room has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. - Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
