Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the best Havelock rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Goodnights - Oceanfront 4BR 2BA Emerald Isle has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
