Rental property booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Havelock attractions and restaurants.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Great OCEAN VIEW 3d Row house. Renovated in 2021 has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
