Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Havelock attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Island Time Oceanfront Condo on Atlantic Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Havelock attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
