Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Southwinds C14 Located in an Oceanfront Complex with Ocean Views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
