Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Havelock area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental in Beaufort:

  • First, have your group select the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Loft on Middle Lane in Historic Downtown Beaufort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
