Booking the best vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Booking your Havelock vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. NEW Look-Luxury Oceanfront Home in Dolphin Ridge W/ Pool & Hot Tub????Epic Views has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
