Tips to get the optimal Havelock vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Booking your Havelock vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the best vacation home in the Havelock area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. New! Updated Villa in Emerald Isle, near the Point has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
