Emerald Isle vacation rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your Havelock vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose and book the perfect Havelock rental:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanview, poolside, 2BR\/2B condo sleeps 6 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, call the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
