Booking the best vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation home:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pet Friendly, Ocean Front, 3 Ensuite BR! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
