Tips to get the perfect Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Pine Knoll Shores. To find the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking the perfectrental:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Pine Knoll Townes 34, Townhouse with community pool has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
