How to book the best Emerald Isle rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Point Emerald A-208, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Havelock attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
