How to book the best Havelock vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Reserve your Havelock vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Point Emerald A-301, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Have a great stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
