Strategies for getting the perfect Emerald Isle rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Havelock restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sandtoesha West, Ocean and Sound Views, in Emerald Isle, close to everything! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
