How to get the best rental value:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer months are high season in Beaufort. To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Havelock restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Havelock area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.

- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review.
