Tips and Tricks to get the best Havelock vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. The Hanner-Luxury Ocean Front Home has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
