Tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:
- To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select your vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Updated Home with Ocean View - with Private Pool and Hot Tub has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
