Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Beaufort. To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group commit to the best dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Whitehurst Lookout on the Sound has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
