Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Havelock restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Havelock area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. New Oceanfront 4BR, 4.5B home with stunning views and spacious decks has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Havelock destination you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
Have a fantastic stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
