Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Beaufort rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Coastal home near the ocean with covered porches & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
