Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock rental experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Havelock area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Havelock area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking your Havelock rental:

  • Choose your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2nd-Floor Oceanfront Condo w\/Shared Pool, Ocean Views + Free WiFi & Wet Bar has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If not, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
