How to get the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Havelock area. Reserve your Havelock vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the perfect Havelock rental home:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A beautiful place W/ Ocean & Sound side view across street from Triple S Marina has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
