Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Havelock rental home:
- Summertime is high season in the Havelock area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Havelock rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. A Southern Exposure, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Havelock beach you love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
