Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Havelock rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summertime is high season in Indian Beach. Reserve your Havelock vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Havelock area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the best vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. A Wave From It All - First Floor Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your group.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
