The Sailfish - Striking Emerald Isle, NC;
The Sailfish is a private beach home for rent in Emerald Isle, NC, at the beginning of the Crystal Shores of the NC Outer Banks. The beaches on Emerald Isle are enchanting white sand, great for swimming and fishing. No hotels or commercial activity on the beach makes this an unspoiled, family-aligned place to appreciate the beach. We rent the Sailfish only to family groups of up to 14 persons. Our home sits on the 2nd row, right across the street from beachfront. Walk down our walkway and cross the modest street to the public beach access right in front of the home. If you want to go clamming in the sound, just walk down our driveway and cross the street in the other direction, to reach the sound.
The Sailfish is completely air conditioned, has two floors, ocean vistas from each floor, and 7 comfortable bedrooms. Two rooms dedicated to play: the upstairs sunroom with game tables, and the downstairs rec room with ping pong table. Our parents constructed this delightful sizable space so that our family could vacation together. We hope you will savor it as much as we still do!
Upstairs, there are 4 bedrooms and two full baths that interconnect between bedrooms. Two ocean-view bedrooms have 1 queen bed each. Two other bedrooms each have 2 double beds. The huge, airy living room has a vaulted ceiling and ceiling fans. Giant dining table with seating up to 12 persons. Totally equipped kitchen. Cavernous sunroom with two tables, ideal for games, working remotely, or additional seating for dining. We keep an assortment of games, puzzles and books in the sunroom, available for guests to enjoy. Or you can sit on the deck/balcony on the upper floor with a cool drink after a day at the beach.
Downstairs, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. One queen bedroom has ocean view, one bedroom with double bed and desk set-up that is great for working remotely, and one bedroom with 2 twin beds. Also downstairs is our rec room, with full size ping pong table, and sitting area with cable tv. Kitchenette downstairs as well, with full size refrigerator/ freezer (great to have with a huge family!), microwave and modest dishwasher.
There is plenty of parking for your family in our enormous gravel parking area behind the home! For more photos and the contract link, see our website:

Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- In the Havelock area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies supply Havelock area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking the bestrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. \"The Sailfish\" - 2nd row to the ocean available in 2025, book now! has 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
