Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Windsong Beach Cottage- with Amazing Ocean Views has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
