Tricks and tips to get the best Havelock rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Havelock trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beaufort Crystal Coast Cottage-Downtown & Pet Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
