Strategies to get the perfect Havelock rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking yourrental home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful Canal-Front Cottage with Deepwater Boat Slip, Waterfront Deck & W\/D has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Havelock destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
