Strategies for getting the perfect Havelock vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your Havelock vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the Havelock area:

  • Select your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beautiful, Comfortable Condo With Dock Space ... quick access to Bogue Sound has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
