Beaufort rental home tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Havelock area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Charming Upscale Bungalow - Beaufort Historic District - 129 Craven Street has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
