Tips to get the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer time is high season in the Havelock area. Book your Havelock rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Havelock area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Havelock visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your Havelock rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Chateau Relaxo Duex- Remodeled Pool View Condo with Direct Beach & Sound Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Havelock destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
