Our top Atlantic Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Havelock area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Choose dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Double Queen-Unit 302 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
