Named by Travel + Leisure as “America’s Favorite Town” among other accolades, Beaufort brings even more to the table than meets the eye. Dock your boat at the neighborhood dock, or sit in the Adirondack chairs and relax by the creek. Take a walk down to "The Boathouse at Front Street Village", or eat at "Traders" (inside the neighborhood) and grab Beaufort Grocery "to go". Take in some history at the Beaufort Historic Site and NC Maritime Museum or drop your kayak in Taylor’s Creek. Then, relish in it all with beverages and award-winning seafood overlooking the water at sunset. It’s no wonder so many people call Beaufort their home away from home.

How to book the best Havelock vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Dreamy Beaufort charmer has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
