Strategies for getting the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfectrental home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Emerald View - heated pool NO FEE 1 pet- Ocean view just steps from the beach has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
