Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • In the Havelock area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Havelock visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your group select date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Enchanting condo with balcony, full kitchen, central AC, & washer\/dryer has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If there's a certain Havelock destination you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
