How to get the best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Havelock vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Havelock area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to select the best rental in Emerald Isle:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Sound Of The Sea West 105, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Havelock rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
