Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Havelock rental home experience:
When to reserve a Havelock rental home & When to go:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Beaufort. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your Havelock vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Front St. Waterfront Cottage with Private Dock, Views, Walk to historic town has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Havelock attraction you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
